In May 2019 we visited together with news photographer Ricardo Herrgott Hiyot and her family in the lowlands of Ginde Beret. Hiyot graduates from her local school's senior school there. After that, she will switch to secondary school in Kachisi, the region's main town, which is about three hours away on foot. After two years, she will be able to go to university with good grades. "I want to be a doctor," Hiyot tells us, "then I can help people get well again." She had had this wish seven years earlier when she first received a visit from news magazine editors.
