Green Gyms: Healthy volunteering

Looking for an alternative to stay fit? You can find it all over the UK Green gyms, These free outdoor sessions combine volunteering with gardening and practical activities such as planting trees, sowing meadows and setting up wild ponds. You learn something about environmental protection and at the same time receive fitness training.

"In fact, in some green gym sessions, almost a third more calories can be consumed than in an average aerobics class!" Says organizer TCV, The Community Volunteering Charity.

ON Study Research conducted by the University of Westminster showed that Green Gym participants reported greater wellbeing and lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression.

Everyone is welcome, no knowledge of the garden or physical condition necessary.
