Scientists say we need to close off at least 30% of our global oceans from destructive industries like industrial fishing and deep-sea mining to give our oceans room to rest.

Only 1% is currently protected. We need a strong global ocean treaty now that creates marine protected areas to give vulnerable ecosystems and marine life a chance to recover.
