In addition to the Ningaloo Reef, the Dampier Archipelago and the Montebello Island Marine Park are particularly badly affected by the environmentally and climate-damaging machinations of Woodside and RWE. Together they are considered a biodiversity hotspot off Australia's west coast.
Anyone who wants to drill for deep-sea gas here has lost respect for the ocean ecosystem – and in the case of RWE, their own credibility as well. Because the group wants to be climate-neutral by 2040. In view of this project, that sounds like pure greenwashing! We demand: RWE, get out of the reef! #RWExit!
