First plastic-free ski destination

In Italy, for the first time, a plastic-free ski resort is being built. Already in this winter season (2019), the ski resort of Pejo 3000 in the Trentino Valley of Val di Sole will completely dispense with disposable plastic. There are all mountain huts, hotels and restaurants in the valley.

The ski area extends between 1.400 and 3.000 meters altitude and includes 15 slopes with a total of around 19 kilometers in length. According to media reports, the initiative resulted from a study by the Milan State University, which finds that the Forni glacier in the Stelvio National Park, where the ski resort is located, contains a total of 162 million particles of plastic components.
