Our protest yesterday against the profit distributions from big banks in times of the Corona crisis is having an initial effect: Erste Bank is "reviewing" its dividend proposal for the time being.
But the Oberbank and Raiffeisen Bank International even confirmed a few days ago that they want to continue to distribute profits to shareholders:
Oberbank: around € 40.000.000
Raiffeisen: around € 375.000.000
No bank may now distribute profits so that the banks can compensate for credit losses to people and businesses. The general interest is more important than the profit interests of the shareholders!
