Greenpeace Germany turns 40! If you want to know how a small citizens' initiative turned into a large environmental movement, then listen to our podcast series “Now even more”.

Greenpeace has been campaigning for the abolition of commercial whaling since 1975. In order to protect the whales, activists have shown full physical effort and literally placed themselves between whale and harpoon. In 1986 a whaling moratorium finally came into effect, banning commercial whaling. But there are still countries that violate the ban. Above all, Japan did not accept that it should no longer do commercial whaling and now hunted under the guise of science. The whale campaign required a lot of patience and lasted over 30 years. In our fourth podcast episode, Regine Rohde tells of her experiences in Antarctica and the spectacular actions against commercial whaling.
