TU study on the potential of Vienna's cycle paths

The Mobility agency let through the Vienna University of Technology Systematically record where unsafe spots and gaps are in the Vienna cycle path network and also which cycle paths would have the greatest effect on more cycle traffic in the city. After all, according to the mobility agency, numerous Viennese cite fear of road traffic and too much car traffic as the main reasons not to cycle.

During the survey, the problematic sections were particularly carefully examined. “We assessed 1.141 sections in 362 streets. The result of the most urgent cycle paths clearly shows that there is a high need for action on half of the road sections assessed. The list of these streets reads like a who's who of Viennese streets: from Alser Strasse to Äußere Mariahilfer Strasse and Fasangasse to Wallensteinstrasse ”, summarizes Fahrradwien.at zusammen.
