Corona crisis creates positive impulses among neighbors

A survey on behalf of an Austrian real estate platform gave a representative picture of the neighborhood. The bottom line: in Austria there are mostly good relationships between neighbors. They have even improved since the corona pandemic:

“The good neighborhood is no exception in this country. When asked about their relationship with their neighbors, 37 percent said they had a good relationship and also helped each other when necessary. 14 percent even describe their relationship as friendly. (...) Around 70 percent of those surveyed state that the relationship with their neighbors has remained the same (since the crisis and lockdown, note), while around 30 percent have improved. 13 percent say that their neighbors have given each other more support since the crisis, one in ten has closer contact with their neighbors and talks to them more, 7 percent have even made contact with neighbors they didn't know before. Increased problems and the associated deterioration in neighborhood relationships due to more noise or loud music only occur in 4 percent of those surveyed, ”according to the results of the survey presented by broadcast.

For the study, Innofact AG interviewed around 2020 Austrians from 24 to 500 online for ImmoScout18 in November 65 as a representative of the Austrian population.
