The new company check 2019: "Living Wages in the Fashion Industry" Clean Clothes Campaign It shows what the beliefs of international fashion companies are in practice in terms of livelihood wages, and which fashion houses, despite all declarations of intent, still do not refrain from maximizing their profits on the backs of the workers.
Conclusion: Although more and more fashion companies commit themselves to living wages on paper, hardly any worker, hardly any worker in the supply chains of the companies examined, still earns enough to be able to live in dignity. That is - in a nutshell - the sobering result of the present survey of 45 international fashion companies. The study shows where the fashion industry and individual companies stand when it comes to living wages and what it takes now to finally achieve concrete progress.
