The linguistic diversity of Europe is a cultural treasure. Those who learn foreign languages rejuvenate their brains and get to know another country and another cultural area. However, there is often a lack of time or money for a better command of the language. The language barriers remain.
In the last 135 years, the Esperanto language has developed, which is intended exclusively for overcoming language barriers. It is not a national language and therefore does not displace other languages, as is the case with colonial languages, but rather preserves the linguistic diversity. Through this common zweite Language, people from different cultures face each other on an equal footing. Esperanto is much easier for everyone to learn than, for example, English. Each sound corresponds to a letter and vice versa, the emphasis always being on the penultimate syllable. The rules have no exceptions. With an ingenious word formation system, you can form many words yourself and do not have to look up in a dictionary all the time.
Esperanto has not yet found its way into the school system as a common second language. The linguistic diversity is pointed out, but English is promoted almost exclusively. The alternative Esperanto is not allowed, although it can save a lot of time and money. The fact is that many people in the EU and around the world are already using Esperanto as a lingua franca.
There are many ways to learn Esperanto outside the conventional school systems. On the Internet you just have to enter the word Esperanto course and you will find several learning opportunities. Esperanto textbooks and dictionaries are available in bookshops. Dictionaries are also available online: vortaro.net or www.esperanto.de.
