Climate Study: Institutional Failure and Powerlessness


Once again, the mood of the Austrian population on the subject of climate protection was captured. This time Allianz Austria commissioned the Market Institute to carry out a climate protection study.

"61 percent of the people living in Austria are convinced that the Climate change can greatest threat of our society in the next 20 years. But only 39 percent feel of its effects personally affected. The majority sees politics as the main responsibility for climate protection, ”the broadcast said.

And further: “The manufacturing industry is considered to be the greatest offender of the climate. Not even every second person sees opportunities to contribute to climate change through their own activities in everyday life. (…) Just 16 percent trust promised policies like new ones Climate protection laws, just 21 percent to take Announcements from Companys to promote CO2-neutral production serious. More than the half on the other hand, is convinced that in our country often 'Greenwashing' is operated."

The survey was carried out as an online survey by the Market Institute on behalf of Allianz Austria. 1.000 people representative of the Austrian population aged 16 and over were surveyed.
