The Rhenish lignite district is one of the largest sources of CO2 in Europe. But NRW Prime Minister and Union Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet is unwaveringly sticking to the climate killer coal and is thus fueling the climate crisis. He still wants the RWE Group to dredge entire villages for the huge open-cast lignite mines.
Against this madness we are taking to the streets: A few weeks before the federal election we will demonstrate on Saturday, August 7th with thousands at the Garzweiler opencast mine in the Rhineland.
