Book "Angry Weather"

Friederike Otto is a climate researcher, physicist and doctorate in philosophy and heads the Environmental Change Institute at Oxford University. She helped develop the new field of attribution science, which enables us to calculate how much climate change there is in our weather.

Are tsunami disasters and apparently ever stronger hurricanes man-made? Is a drought a consequence of global warming or just a hot summer as part of the weather? The book “Angry Weather - Looking for the culprits for heat waves, floods and storms” by Friederike Otto provides answers:

“The figures show: A heat wave like the one in Germany in 2018 has become at least twice as likely as it used to be due to climate change. You can hold specific causers responsible for weather phenomena - companies, even entire countries, can now be brought to justice. And it prevents climate change from being misused as an argument: politicians can no longer invoke it to cover up mismanagement and their own failures. This book brings clarity to a heated debate.
