Animal welfare: How does the plastic get into the sea?

Just like nature, animals also play an important role on our earth. Protecting and caring for the animal world and defending its rights is the task of humans. Many believe that they cannot do anything for animal welfare. But mostly these are just daily things in life, such as restricting meat consumption or avoiding plastic. Plastic not only destroys nature and the sea, it also kills animals. Take a whale. This species of animal feeds on plankton and has done so for millions of years, since a time when the species Homo sapiens did not yet exist. The existence of whales is threatened today because the oceans are polluted with huge amounts of plastic.

Plastic that is made by humans and that is thrown away as worthless garbage after a single use. In the best case, plastic is recycled, in the most common case the plastic is loaded onto a truck and carted around. Probably not a single consumer knows where the worthless plastic is being put after a single use. This unsuspecting person calls himself Homo sapiens, who is gifted with reason, but with everything that is beyond selfish needs, they act irresponsibly. The main thing is cheap. Where the plastic packaging and the plastic bottle end up is irrelevant. The main thing is that she is gone. This is called garbage tourism.

And the truck drives and drives and, in the worst case, heads for a port. His payload, which is of no use, is loaded onto a ship. It is a ship with a huge belly into which the cargo of our truck and that of many other trucks is tipped. It doesn't take long to load. Then shut up, the engine on and off we go to one of our oceans, in which gigantic amounts of plastic waste and fishing nets are already floating. A single shipload is no longer noticeable. And again the flap is opened and new plastic waste is combined with old plastic waste. And just as the earth rotates around the sun, the wheels of the trucks turn to bring the next cargo to the port so that the ship can sail out again with a bulging belly. The main thing is that the useless cargo business is good business.

Who still thinks of the animals in the sea? Who still thinks of a whale? For millions of years it has fed itself in such a way that it opens its mouth while swimming and filters its food from the water flowing through it. It worked for 30 million years. Until Homo sapiens discovered the benefits of plastic and did not allow him to be more intelligent than becoming a disposable product after a single use. Since then, the oceans have been littered with plastic. The whales open their mouths as they have done for 30 million years, and water, plankton and plastic, which are life-threatening for them, are pouring into their bodies. Every year many thousands of marine animals die from the remains of plastic.

This is the work of Homo sapiens: the ruble is rolling, but reason and responsibility have been put on permanent leave. True prosperity is only given when humans manage to enable marine animals to feed themselves appropriately again. That's why I appeal to people to stop using plastic or to recycle this material 100%.
