Alpen-Sylt Night Express: from Salzburg to the coast in one night


Legs stretched out a little bit before the journey north ends in Sylt after a quiet night and around 1.000 kilometers. With the Alpen-Sylt night express it is now possible. Without traffic jams and climate-friendly, the train runs twice a week from November to November 2 from Sylt to Salzburg (Thursdays and Saturdays) and twice from Salzburg to Sylt (Fridays and Sundays).

Route: Westerland (Sylt), Niebüll, Husum, HH-Altona, HH-Hbf, Frankfurt / M-Süd, Aschaffenburg, Würzburg, Nuremberg, Donauwörth, Augsburg, Munich-Pasing, Rosenheim, Prien am Chiemsee, Traunstein, Freilassing, Salzburg.

A ticket for the Alpen-Sylt night express costs from 99 euros per compartment. It starts according to the Sylt timetable at 19:55. A night later you reach Salzburg around noon. Anyone boarding Salzburg will start in the afternoon / early evening and reach Sylt after around 16 hours of travel in the couchette compartment, which can be used as a day car during daytime operations.
