Especially in times of crisis as currently prevailing through the corona virus, it becomes clear how important our farmers are for the supply of healthy food. Alfred is an Austrian organic farmer with a passion and is convinced that the future of agriculture can only work with sustainability and pesticide reduction. Together with many other farmers, they are already fighting for climate protection and biodiversity, but species extinction continues unabated.
The fault is the failed agricultural policy of the past decades. In this way, large corporations were able to set up a system that is primarily tailored to maximizing their profits and that has made agriculture dependent. Therefore we call on the European Commission with our European citizens' initiative “Save Bees & Farmers” to support farmers in switching to a pesticide-free and bee-friendly way of working.
