Adviser: Greener live by the way

Berlin. Environmental and climate protection are exhausting. You have to limit yourself and do without. Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that. On 224 pages, the reference work “Living greener by the way” shows how each of us can live more climate-friendly with little effort. Often you and you save a lot of money and time.

Clearly sorted, author Christian Eigner gives daily tips

  • Shopping and packing
  • Eating and Drinking
  • Household and garden
  • Housing and energy as well
  • Mobility, leisure and finance.

At the beginning of each chapter, the author describes the effects of the respective topics on the climate and the environment. This is followed by tips on traveling by car, bicycle, bus and train, car sharing, comparing different modes of transport and on "green" investments, for example in listed stock index funds that focus on the shares of sustainable companies.

The big points of climate protection:

How you can achieve a lot with little effort

On the first 27 pages, the book explains simply and clearly the heating of our planet, its causes and consequences. This is followed by an overview of the points where consumers: indoors can most effectively relieve the climate with the least effort. These so-called big points are:

  • Insulate house and apartment
  • drive less car,
  • switch to a fuel-saving vehicle or - even better - public transport and bicycle,
  • Buy organic products regionally and seasonally
  • fly less,
  • Reduce living space
  • eat less meat
  • Obtain green electricity

The individual chapters contain numerous references to environmentally friendly products and ideas that make life easier, cheaper and more climate-friendly. For example, there are tips on how and where you can use products instead of buying new ones, how you can get by without expensive, energy-guzzling tumble dryers, or how well-organized minimalism can make life easier.

Big plus point of the book: The many examples and addresses, the clear structure, the index for looking up and the everyday relevance of the tips, which everyone can implement immediately.

"An inspiring guide with surprising tips and lasting tricks," summarizes the publisher Stiftung Warentest. The book is printed on recycled paper in Germany and meets the standards of the eco-label Blue Angel
