Leonie's story shows us how the climate crisis is being dealt with. Although new heat records are reported every year, entire villages are flooded, huge forest areas are in flames, many people suffer from severe drought and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warns more urgently with each new report, solutions are delayed and the crisis is not taken seriously enough. With the Paris Climate Agreement, Switzerland has committed itself to taking effective climate protection measures. But the plans of the federal government are half-hearted. In Switzerland we can expect more hot days, winters with little snow, dry summers and heavy precipitation.
A few degrees more are life-threatening. Also with the climate.
