With the “Climate Corona Deal”, a broad alliance of 183 organizations and 577 scientists is calling for the climate-friendly restructuring of the economy instead of aid for # Climate destroyer.

1. The government must now create thousands - new and long-term safe - climate-friendly jobs. To do this, it must invest in qualification and further training measures as well as employment initiatives.
2. Funds from the current aid and economic stimulus packages must be used to achieve the 1,5 degree target of the Paris climate agreement. There should be no money for oil, coal and gas - as well as for companies that block social-ecological transformation. Subsidies for fossil fuels must be canceled.
3. Civil society and all social partners must be involved in the negotiations on the distribution of Corona state grants. The award criteria must be transparent and correspond to the 1,5 degree target. The population must be involved in the decision-making process.
4. The government must make a fair contribution to international climate finance. The poorest countries' debts must be canceled. Trade and investment policy must also promote rather than reduce human and worker rights and ambitious environmental standards.
Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, Minister of Labor Christine Ashbacher and finance minister Gernot Blumel were not available for handover.
