In Sarawak we came across many foreign companies that were involved in the planning of dams and that applied standards in Malaysia that were far lower than those internationally usual. They are complicit in practices that violate the rights of us indigenous peoples and that would never have been tolerated in their home countries. To ensure that there are no double standards, we need laws like the Corporate Responsibility Initiative. "
