A criminal court in Istanbul sentenced Amnesty officials to large prison terms in the trial of 11 human rights defenders: Taner Kılıç, Honorary Chairman of Amnesty Turkey, was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months for “membership of the terrorist organization Fethullah Gülen”; İdil Eser, former director of Amnesty International Turkey, and two other accused, Özlem Dalkıran and Günal Kurşun, on 25 months in prison for “supporting a terrorist organization”.
Despite the shocking verdict, we will not give up and will continue to fight for justice alongside our friends and colleagues!
