We sincerely apologize to the two people who were injured in yesterday's Greenpeace campaign and we sincerely hope that they will get better soon. Greenpeace demonstrates peacefully and non-violently for climate protection and security is particularly important to us.
The paragliding flight was part of a protest campaign for more speed when phasing out climate-damaging internal combustion engines at EM sponsor Volkswagen. He was supposed to fly over the stadium and let a soft balloon with a message to the EM sponsor VW sink onto the field. A technical defect forced the pilot to make an emergency landing on the lawn: The drive lever of the electric motor failed, so the glider was too low. We take security very seriously and will investigate the incidents. It goes without saying that we will cooperate fully with all relevant authorities.
