Juhuu! The Global Alliance for Tax Justice and the journalists' network ICIJ are jointly nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize!
This is great recognition for the constant and tough struggle for more transparency and tax justice. In Austria, Attac Austria and the VIDC are members of the European network of the Global Alliance for Tax Justice.
Especially in times of the global pandemic, corporations, the wealthy and elites must not shirk their contribution to the common good. Together with the Global Alliance, we will continue to work for political solutions!
The most important requirements include:
- an effective automatic exchange of information between the international tax authorities
- public register of beneficial ownership as well
- public financial reports from multinational corporations

As announced yesterday, the Global Alliance for Tax Justice (GATJ) and the investigative journalist network ICIJ are jointly nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. "The mammoth achievement of the GATJ to build up national and international pressure for transparency and tax justice deserves attention, recognition and support," says the nomination letter, among other things.
