Michelle is not a man - editorial by Helmut Melzer

Helmut Melzer

The wife of the US president, Michelle Obama, is said to be a man, assuring videos on Youtube to a million audience. Even if this message would actually affect us, a detailed examination of this daring conjecture is unfortunately not possible. On the one hand, we have budgetary geographical limits, on the other hand, it would probably be hardly appropriate to kick the lady too close. In general, however, "everything is possible". And similarly low as the chances of winning the lottery should also be likely to assume that Michelle is doing something very, very bad - namely wearing a female name.

That behind the pamphlet and other nonsense on the Internet but there is more than just joke, learn in this issue of Option. Away from widespread stupidity, it is disinformation, the deliberate spread of false reports that unsettle us - to make economic or political capital. Michelle's supposed masculinity is meant to damage the image of the US president. The fact that organic is a nonsense and sustainability brings nothing at all makes the cash register ring for manufacturers of conventional products. If refugees are bad criminals, we can send them home without a guilty conscience.

With all the great apps brought to us by the digital revolution, security has been lost to trustworthy information. This is already shaping the new century: in the face of "truths" and opinions, even facts are difficult to discern: is vaccination harmful? The crime increased? The moon landing never happened?

Some sources of information deserve a new warning: "This contribution could endanger your mental health. For further information please refer to the quality medium of your trust. "
