Is Germany letting Afghans down?
Three years ago, the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan. The terrible images from Kabul airport remain unforgettable. The situation in the country has deteriorated dramatically since then - especially for girls and women. The Taliban view human rights defenders, including women demonstrators, journalists and political activists, as enemies.

The Taliban view human rights defenders, including women protesters, journalists or political activists, as enemies. Those who protest can be arbitrarily arrested, detained, tortured or otherwise ill-treated.
The federal government has promised to accept 22.000 particularly threatened Afghans in Germany. So far, however, it has only given 3.000 commitments (or rather, acceptance commitments?) - 581 people have arrived in Germany. The federal government now wants to cut funding for the federal reception program for the coming year.
To the Federal Government: Keep your word and protect Afghans who are threatened by the Taliban!
