Germany plans to launch the EU#Mercosur-Powering states. The agreement is a frontal attack on climate protection, human rights and occupational safety standards
Why? Among other things, the agreement is intended to enable the German auto industry to export more to the Mercosur countries. In return, the South American agricultural industry receives tariff and trade facilities. German chemical companies would benefit from this - by more exports of pesticides banned in the EU.
Together with the platform Acting differently - shaping globalization fairly and 265 international organizations we ask the German government to stop the agreement!
And we ask the Austrian government to stick to its NO. The Austrian Parliament committed every future government to this in September 2019.
Austria is not alone: the Walloon and Dutch parliament also reject this #Mercosur-Agreements, France and Ireland have announced that they will block the agreement:
