Today's Fire Drill Friday, we will discuss an executive action to end leasing of new fossil fuels on our public land and waterways. We are joined by frontline activists Quannah Chasinghorse and Jayeesha Dutta, who have firsthand knowledge of the impact the drilling threat is having on their communities in the Arctic and Gulf of Mexico and why it is so important for Biden to act in his country The first 100 days in office to prevent climate chaos, end racism with fossil fuels and improve the wellbeing of millions of people.

About the guests:
Quannah Chasinghorse, 18 years old, is from the Han Gwich'in and Oglala Lakota tribes and lives in Fairbanks, Alaska. She is an indigenous land protector for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, who protects these sacred areas from oil development and fights for climate justice. Quannah's deep connection to the countries and to the way of life of her people guides and informs everything she does and what she stands for. She is enthusiastic about indigenous rights, MMIWG and representation. She is an avid snowboarder, guitarist and is training to be a traditional indigenous tattoo artist. Quannah was honored to reach Teen Vogue's 2020 "Top 21 Under 21" list.
Jayeesha Dutta is a start-up entrepreneur currently working on the opening of Mar Bari, the Social Justice Spa, and is a co-founder of the Another Gulf Is Possible Collaborative. She is a board member of the Climate Justice Alliance, Alternate ROOTS, South Asian Americans Leading Together, and Eyewitness Palestine.
