Cold, eucalyptus, relaxation

Cold, eucalyptus, relaxation

The cold starts again and you are in a constant paranoid state, as soon as someone cleans their nose or sneezes, so you will not be infected with the plague.

Those who fail to do fifty hand washes a day, disinfectant wipes, and avoiding public items such as door handles as anti-cold strategies will need to consider a new technique for recovery. The classics: chamomile steam bath, milk with honey, chicken soup and the gurgle of salt water. However, there is a more luxurious strategy: warm showers with eucalyptus, to be exact with so-called "eucalyptus bouquets".

The "bouquets" for the shower consist of some eucalyptus branches, which are hung together under the shower head. The warm steam (of course, only with warm shower), the essential oils of the plant are released.

What eucalyptus can do:

  • Pleasantly fresh fragrance in the bathroom
  • Relaxation
  • Positive effect on mood
  • Relieve physical pain
  • Anti-inflammatory (preventative for colds)
  • Dissolves mucus from the bronchi and paranasal sinuses
  • Helpful in allergies

Attention: People with asthma are advised not to inhale the essential oils.

In addition to eucalyptus, this technique can also be used with other plant species, such as rosemary, lavender, lemongrass or mint. Eucalyptus is available to buy in every flower shop. In addition, the best time to plant eucalyptus trees is now - between October and December, they bloom beautifully with white, fragrant flowers.

There are only a few studies on the healing powers of the eucalyptus plant, but a home trial certainly does not hurt - in most cases there's nothing better to do with a cold. So, good luck with the immunity and get well soon!
