Dolomites in autumn

Those who want to reduce flights but do not want to miss out on an exciting holiday can think of alternatives. There are many options in Europe where you feel like you are far away without really getting on the plane.

A holiday destination: the Dolomites!

In addition to the main seasons in winter for skiing and also in summer, there are especially in autumn and in spring beautiful places in Tyrol, which are not overrun by tourists. In the dreamy town of San Cassiano you can find some hiking trails that offer a fantastic backdrop, especially in autumn.

Hiking route to the Holy Cross "La Crusc"

The route to La Crusc can be started from the bus stop between Costadedoi and Cianins. From here, the "Rüdeferia" (N.15) leads up between the woods into the mountains. After a steep ascent you are literally above the clouds after about 1,5 hours. The approximately two-hour hike can then be enjoyed at 2045 meters in front of the church.

On the way back, there are some alternatives: one can take a combination of the N.15 and N.12 back to the villages, or extend the route to a circular walk: this offers itself from the La Crusc down to the N.15A, until you arrive back down in the village of San Linert.

"Lärchenweg" hike

A recommended, easy walk is the N.15A, where it goes through many colorful orange and yellow larches. Here you walk over the town of San Cassiano. It hardly encounters a hiker and you have nature all to yourself, with the ringing of some cowbells.

It is quite conceivable that the hype could subside from a distance due to the climate protection movement. That would bring many advantages: Holiday destinations in the vicinity are cheaper and more environmentally friendly to reach than a holiday in Indonesia - the train, bus or "car sharing" are good options for this. In addition, tourism is supported regionally and nationally and locals benefit from hikers as long as they respect nature. Why drive far away when the beauty of nature is sometimes right outside your door?
