Caution – WLAN in schools!

DO WE RISK CHILDREN'S HEALTH?

At the moment, all politicians think that the introduction of digital technology (smartphones, tablets & WLAN) in schools and day-care centers is the solution to all educational problems - but here they are only sitting on the whisperings of the industry, which only wants to sell more devices and even more mobile phone contracts.

Many journalists also think they have to jump on this bandwagon and publish articles such as "Wireless instead of helpless" and propagate the widespread use of WLAN in schools.

Digital Pact#D

With their nationwide introduction, we will not improve our ranking in the PISA studies, on the contrary - the one-sided occupation with digital media leads to stupidity, because it does not promote brain development - but inhibits it, as the brain researcher Prof. Dr. Manfred Spitzer and other scientists never tire of proving...

From digital dementia to the smartphone pandemic

Teachers instead of technology to schools!

Education cannot be delivered through digital devices, only through educators! The point here is not to demonize the use of digital media across the board, but to use them in a sensible and targeted manner. If you read the various articles here, you can get the impression that these things are seen as a panacea for education.

They are not! They can be a valuable addition to teaching in a number of subjects, but they can never, never replace teachers!

In addition, there is the stress caused by the WLAN - continuous radiation with negative effects on learning, attention and behavior, as has now been proven by a number of studies. Our children and grandchildren should get knowledge at school and not be made ill!

Here Prof. Dr. Karl Hecht published some papers demonstrating the effects of pulsed WLAN radiation:

Prof. Hecht on the effect of the 10 Hz pulsation

WLAN disrupts life processes

Recommendations for schools that already operate a WLAN

Recommendations for schools that do not yet operate WLAN

The very strong 10 Hz pulsation of the WLAN signal creates frequency peaks in the ionizing range - this explains why WLAN in particular affects the brain waves (8 - 12 Hz) so strongly and causes many other problems.

And yet it ionizes...

Glass fiber instead of radio!

If you already want to use digital things in class and want to incorporate the use of the Internet into class and learning, then this should be done with a cable! A fiber optic connection would be the best way to connect schools to the www. In the house itself, optimized LAN cabling would be the best and, above all, radiation-free solution! What is also often overlooked is that schools with WLAN are vulnerable to hackers - an enormous risk for security and data protection!

Smart homes hacked - The risks of "smart" technology

It's about imparting the necessary skills here at school, such as logical and critical thinking, grasping complex relationships, classifying facts, concentrated work and teamwork, to name just the most important ones. – As far as I know, it is precisely these skills that are needed in the development, implementation and maintenance of high technology.

Interestingly, performing complex movements in games and sports in particular promotes the development of the neuronal circuits in the brain that are responsible for logical and complex thinking. It therefore makes more sense to let the kids master complex movement situations in a playful way (climbing, ball games, gymnastics, etc.) instead of putting the kids in front of tablets, smartphones and the like - if you have developed the necessary connections in your brain, you can do arithmetic, combine facts, programming etc

Society and politics are responsible for future generations! Also responsible for the economic, cultural and social development of our country!

situation abroad

Our neighbor France is already further ahead:

  • Ban on WiFi in crèches (up to 3 years)
  • In day-care centers and elementary schools (up to 15 years), WLAN can only be switched on for educational purposes
  • Mobile devices are only allowed from the intermediate level
  • The SAR value of mobile phones must be on the packaging, as well as information on the
    reduction of radiation
  • WiFi routers in elementary schools must be switched off if necessary. Locations of
    Wireless routers must be published
  • A government report on electro-hypersensitivity is being prepared.

In other countries, too, progress has been made:

  • In April 2016, Haifa/Israel switched off WiFi in schools and kindergartens and switched to wired work! The mayor even orders WiFi to be uninstalled in all schools
  • The USA, as a pioneer of technical progress, is getting rid of school laptops. Why? The performance has not improved, but the concentration of the students has deteriorated.
  • This was also shown by the large study "Schools on the Net...." Neither better grades nor better learning behavior could be determined. Here, too, it was found that the students "tend to be less attentive" with notebooks.
  • In the USA, the first lawsuits against WLAN in schools were filed by parents as early as 2004.
  • In 2008, a British teachers' association called for the ban on WiFi in schools.
  • In 2015, the South Tyrol consumer advice center called for a moratorium on the introduction of WiFi in schools and public facilities.
  • Israel and Italy officially recommend their schools to reduce the exposure of children to radio waves.
  • The Italian town of Borgofranco d`Ivrea switched off WiFi in all schools in 2016.
  • Other schools in Australia, Italy, Belgium and the US are moving away from WiFi and going wired.
  • The head of Belgium's largest mobile phone company, Belgacom, banned Wi-Fi in its offices in 2013 and warned children about cell phones.
  • Two Allianz Group companies have removed WiFi from their offices.
  • Libraries in Paris shut down WiFi in 2007 due to physical ailments.
  • Israel's Ministry of Health has banned WiFi in kindergartens and elementary schools since October 2015.
  • No WiFi in Cyprus kindergartens
  • The former boss of Microsoft/Canada warns against WLAN in schools.

The state of Salzburg is very critical of 5G & mobile communications

Information for schools is offered, such as a school case for electrosmog with many educational pdfs:

https://www.salzburg.gv.at/gesundheit_/Documents/T12_WLAN_LAN_Mobiles_Internet.pdf

The school and WLAN team has developed a sample letter for local schools

Millions were made available for the digitization of schools. Unfortunately, this money is mostly spent on radio-based Internet and no consideration is given to the children's health and ability to learn. It's almost 12!

Parents, please send such letters to the schools in and around your area so that a dialogue can be established and the schools can be digitized in a health-friendly manner or existing WiFi networks can be converted to wired networks.

The sample letter and further information can be obtained by e-mail here:

WLAN in day-care centers and schools – hype suppresses the risks
Lecture by Peter Hensinger at Alliance for Responsible Mobile Communications Germany

From the lecture:

With the school year 2019/2020, the Digital Pact for Schools came into force in Germany. There is a lack of qualified teachers, educators, social workers and psychologists. However, the earmarking of the Pact funds is forcing the schools to invest in digital infrastructure and end devices. In September 2019, 700 lobbyists from the telecom industry met in Berlin in the "Forum Education Digitization", reports the Berliner Tagesspiegel, with the aim of discussing how digitization can be implemented with more pressure, because it is about "a market develop”: “The globally active Bertelsmann group has founded its own education division (Bertelsmann Education Group), which is to achieve sales of one billion euros with digitization. The companies Telekom and Vodafone are likely to be the most direct beneficiaries of the digitization of schools. The majority of the five billion euros invested with the digital pact is intended to connect German schools to the fast Internet - that is the business field of Telekom and Vodafone" (Füller 2019).

The planned "digital education" is based on the infrastructure of smartphones, tablet PCs and WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network). Apparently there should be WiFi. The learning data is sent and received with smartphones and tablet PCs between teachers, students and the school cloud via WLAN access points. WLAN is a license-free radio frequency that can hardly be protected from outside access. Smartphones, tablets and WiFi routers transmit and receive via the 2,45 GHz (= 2450 MHz) microwave frequency of WiFi. It is clocked at 10 Hz. Body cells are thus permanently exposed to non-ionizing radiation. "Free" WiFi also allows children and young people to use their smartphones for free.

In 2011, the Cancer Agency IARC WHO classifies non-ionizing radiation as a possible carcinogen. One of the first researches that demonstrated DNA strand breaks was the study of Henry Lai (1996). He used the WLAN frequency of 2450 MHz. DNA strand breaks are a precursor to cancer. The cancer-causing potential of non-ionizing radiation has since been explored confirmed several times, including the REFLEX studies, the US government's National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) NTP study, the Ramazzini study, the AUVA study, and Hardell's studies (Hardell 2018, NTP 2018a&b). In addition: In March 2015, the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection announced, based on the results of a replication study, that a cancer-promoting effect below the limit values must be regarded as secured (!) (Lerchl et al. 2015).

In principle, the toxicity of mobile phone radiation is thus confirmed. For insiders, this is nothing new. As early as 2011, the WHO classified mobile phone radiation as possibly carcinogenic, today science speaks of "clear evidence". As early as 2005, the Federal Office for Radiation Protection criticized the "uncontrolled exposure" of the population in its "Radiation Protection Guidelines", because this technology was introduced without a technology assessment. Risks were named, eg the cancer-promoting effect, legal regulations were demanded and principles for radiation protection that are still current today were formulated. The industry association BITKOM immediately demanded that the guidelines be withdrawn. After all, license fees of €50 billion had been paid for the UMTS frequencies shortly beforehand. The guidelines were withdrawn, new ones have not yet been developed...

In his lecture, Peter Hensinger went into detail and well-founded about the health risks of WLAN & mobile communications, to quote everything here would go beyond the scope...

The complete lecture

One begins to ask oneself more and more what interests the responsible school authorities are actually pursuing with the massive expansion of WLAN in schools. Certainly not the health interests of students and teachers.

From a pedagogical point of view, too, digital learning, which is being propagated at the moment, was at best an emergency solution for the Corona situation, which made face-to-face teaching hardly possible, but not a permanent solution!

If digital learning were to become too “school”, it is to be feared that we would steer into a 2-class education system, with a “digital” school for the public, where you save on personnel costs (teachers) and private schools with teachers for the People who can afford this for their children...

You can already see something like this in Silcon Valley (USA), where the highly paid computer nerds send their children to technology-free Waldorf schools:

There is another way:

The digital concept of the Waldorf School-Wangen - cable has priority over WiFi!

The Wangen Waldorf School used the funding from the Digital Pact for its own concept of using digital media as teaching aids. The Waldorf school laid 3500 meters of cable as part of the digital pact. – The cables are made of a combination of fiberglass and copper. "We now have fast and stable internet everywhere - without causing radiation or having to put up with interference from concrete walls." Disadvantages compared to WLAN have not yet been identified.

The latest brain research even shows that digital learning can really "backfire":

Waking up dealing with digital media

Is the digital revolution blocking our children's future?

iDisorder: Effects of the digitization of the educational system on the development of children and adolescents

How digitization is making our children stupid

Smartphones make our children sick

Hence the appeal to all parents, teachers and educators:

No WLAN in schools and kindergartens!

Digital media only as a supplement in class
– but not as a substitute for lessons!
