2019 was an eventful year for re-use and repair

What is happening in Austria in terms of re-use and repairs? RepaNet - the re-use and repair network Austria - is presenting an activity report as a separate publication this year for the first time, which gives an exciting insight into the diverse activities related to these topics that occupied the association in 2019. Read on now!

So far, RepaNet has given interested parties an overview of the various activities of RepaNet in a joint publication - activity report and market survey - at the same time as the members' annual re-use figures, for example in RepaNet Activity Report & Re-Use Market Survey 2019. This year these two publications will be published separately for the first time. So now it became RepaNet activity report 2019 submitted. You will find it - as well as many other exciting publications on everything to do with re-use and repairs in the RepaThek on the RepaNet website.

In it you can read news about the RepaNet activities in the network of repair initiatives, at the Social Urban Mining project consortium Construction carousel and in the project Let'sFIXitthat brings repairs to the classroom. Networking and cooperation are also central to RepaNet - for example within the raw materials working group and at SDG Watch Austria; at the European level, the cooperation with Right to Repair Europe and RREUSE is highlighted.

The year 2019 also brought major developments in the political field, such as an expansion of repair subsidies in Austrian federal states, re-use and repair in the turquoise-green government program and, at the European level, the ecodesign regulations, the European Green Deal and the Circular Economy Package 2.0. A lot is in motion and RepaNet has made the best possible contribution and we are pleased that re-use, repair and recycling are increasingly coming into focus - also in the media (a few highlights on this in the report).

RepaNet, the interest group for socio-economic re-use and repair companies, will also introduce you to the new members Caritas of the diocese of St. Pölten, GRAZ repariert, Bildungszentrum Salzkammergut (BIS), Gwandolina and Integra Vorarlberg, who joined in 2019. At the end of 2019, RepaNet had 33 members and 11 sponsoring members.
