Why?
In 1997, a gigantic wave of speculation tore Southeast Asia into crisis. The editor-in-chief of “Le Monde diplomatique”, which is published in eight languages, Ignacio Ramonet, published a call for control of the financial markets in December 1997. On June 3, 1998, Attac was founded in France.
