September 20th is World Children's Day: Activists of the Stop Child Labor initiative remind ministers of the 160 million working children on this day. A strong supply chain law is required!

🚸 The lettering "Stop child labor" and "Supply chain law now!" were scrubbed as so-called reverse graffiti in front of the doors of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Economics. After all, child labor is on the rise worldwide. A strong European supply chain law could effectively counteract this.

🌍 Around 160 million children worldwide are affected by child labor. For the first time in 20 years, the number of working children is rising again. In 2015, the world community was still optimistic: In the 2030 Agenda, it set itself the ambitious goal of eliminating child labor by 2025.

📣 The initiative "Stop Child Labor" - consisting of the Dreikönigsaktion, the Catholic Jungeschar, FAIRTRADE Austria, Jugend Eine Welt, Kindernothilfe Austria, weltumspannendarbeiten (ÖGB) and Butterfly Rebels - demands from Austrian government members and parliamentarians a supply chain law that effectively counteracts child labor takes place.
