Greenpeace and Deutsche Umwelthilfe are suing car companies for climate protection!

Volkswagen, Mercedes, BMW and the oil and natural gas company Wintershall DEA must meet their climate protection obligations and reduce CO2 more quickly. While the consequences of the climate crisis are threatening more and more human lives around the world, car manufacturers are continuing to sell millions of their climate-damaging diesel and gasoline engines. The time window in which we can limit the climate crisis to 1,5 ° is disappearing at a rapid pace.

We take the constitutional judges from Karlsruhe at their word: In April 2021 they ruled that future generations have a fundamental right to climate protection. Large companies are also bound by this. The plaintiffs are therefore asserting civil law claims for the protection of their personal freedom and property rights.
